Puppy’s 1st Birthday
Koda recently celebrated his 1st birthday with a home-made bone-shaped liver cookie, as if he wasn’t spoiled enough! He has brought us so much joy and laughter. Here are just a small selection of moments with our beloved puppy, we hope they will make you smile.

Eliptamin Women’s Conference
The Women’s Conference in Eliptamin at the end of June was a wonderful experience. I praised God with bush women from 14 language groups and, with help from some friends, gave out education, encouragement and “Days for Girls” Sanitary kits to 100 young women.

Heading Home to Telefomin
We met some interesting people along the way home to Telefomin on Thursday. We were SO happy to see our 11 month old puppy, Koda, and we got home in time to celebrate PNG’s 48th Independence Anniversary.

Annual Leave 2023
After a lovely stretch of annual leave in Australia, we’re heading back to PNG, hopefully more rested, and ready for whatever lies ahead. First stop, Mt Hagen, MAF’s HQ, for a flight check and buying groceries for the next 2 months.

A Pilots’ Start to the Day
It’s 5.45am on a flying day, before he even has breakfast Ryan has logged on to check the weather forecast for the day ahead. Koda is also trying to make the most of Ryan being at home wanting snuggles and to play. But Ryan only has a few minutes to spare whilst he gets ready to fly through some of the most challenging terrain in the world…

Traditional PNG Craft
The traditional craft of Bilum weaving has been passed down through generations in PNG. Bilums are used to carry everything from coins to vegetables to firewood and even babies! Shiv filmed her friends weaving together…

Collecting Gravel
With the help of our local friends, we spent the day moving gravel from the river to the MAF base in preparation for the maintenance team laying new cement in our passenger waiting area. We all got soaked in the afternoon rain storm!

Easter Weekend
We had a fun and busy long Easter weekend with visitors, a picnic, Easter Egg Hunt, meals with friends and a visit to one of the local villages. Lots of fun but it ended with saying goodbye, as things so often do in our life in PNG…

The Cole Communiqué - March 2023
Our March Newsletter went out to all our subscribers over the weekend, but for those of you who don’t want to receive our news in your inbox, you can read it all here…
Unexpected weekend in Australia
We enjoyed some luxuries in Australia, like shopping at a supermarket and brunch! It was a great opportunity to get away.
The MAF Mareeba Engineers did a great job on P2-MAF!

Dedicating Ankem’s New Church
We spent our Christmas Eve celebrating the opening of a new Church building in our neighbouring village of Ankem, where we have friends and colleagues living. It was a time of thanksgiving to God for his generous provision and so much celebration for the completion of this work which has taken around 8 years!

So long neighbours…
We have 2 expat neighbour families here in Telefomin. We returned home just in time to say hello and goodbye to our Aussie neighbours who are heading on their extended Home Assignment for 6 months. We’re going to miss them!
