Ryan Passed!

For the last 3 weeks, Ryan has been doing Instrument Flight Rating (IFR) training in Mt Hagen. On Friday he had a flight and oral test and he passed! He’s now qualified to fly IFR in the C208 Caravan which means he can fly through clouds, so he’ll be safer. He’s flown IFR before when he flew the DHC6 Twin Otter. The rules in PNG mean that he can only fly IFR in the Caravan when he does not have passengers, but we have a team of people who’ve been working with the Civil Aviation Authority in PNG to get permission to fly IFR anytime.

Please pray that we get this permission soon as it will make flying in PNG safer!

The photo is of Ryan wearing the IFR hood, used for training with an IFR-rated instructor to simulate being inside a cloud.
