The Cole Communiqué - March 2025
Dear Friends & Supporters,
We had a good finish to our Home Assignment in the UK, visiting with family and friends, but sadly, once we reached PNG, my (Shiv's) Grandmother had received a terminal diagnosis and passed away by the end of February. These kind of situations are a major negative of being so far from family. Popping home to "help out", or even to attend the funeral, is just not practical. February was a really tough month where I felt pulled between my family in the UK and my home and calling in Telefomin. I am so grateful for the love and support of Ryan, my parents and some great friends.
We're so glad be home in Telefomin, but the pressure of being the only pilot family here for over a year weighs heavily on us both. The pilot family who are planned to move to Telefomin, have been unable to leave the UK, and are already 3 months delayed. Not knowing when they will be able to join us to share our burden is really tough.
We've really hit the ground running since being back at the end of January, but we are both very aware that we need to pace ourselves and look after each other, as we still have a minimum of 6 months before we get neighbours to support us.
We would value your prayers!
