First Sunday in Telefomin Medevac

Less than 48 hours after getting home to Telefomin, Ryan got his first call requesting a Medical Evacuation Flight (Medevac) of a man with intestinal distress in Nomad River who needed to get to hospital in Kiunga, a 20 min flight away from Telefomin.

As we were leaving Church, Ryan got the call and rushed home to get himself ready. We walked to the base where he had to daily his aircraft, which takes about 45 mins. Even in an emergency situation the aircraft daily still has to happen to ensure the aircraft is safe to fly.

This was the first of 5 emergency medical evacuation patients who Ryan helped in his first 10 days back home in Telefomin. The community have been constantly telling us how glad they are that we are back and Ryan is flying again!
