Getting the Grass Cut

Grass-cutters.jpg

We are responsible for cutting our own grass and looking after the garden in the MAF transit house next door.

Thankfully, MAF bought a new lawn mower for our base last year, so getting the main garden areas cut, as well as the aircraft parking bay, is much less effort than it used to be. However, the lawn mower can’t do the fiddly bits, next to the fences, the edges of the many drainage ditches and along the side of the road. We don’t have a strimmer/weed whacker so I asked some friends if they could please help us out.

This lovely team came from Ankem Church, just down the road from us, and worked for 3 hours to tidy all the fiddly bits using bush knives. And they didn’t even do it for money! We paid them for their time, of course, but they donated all the money to their Church to help pay for the opening celebration of their new church building which should happen sometime in the New Year.

What a blessing and an inspiration they are!
