Welcome Back

Welcomed back by David Pank

MAF PNG’s Facebook page shared:

David Pank, our Ground Operations Manager, this week welcomed an old colleague back to his department.

Siobhain Cole has taken up a temporary role of Acting Deputy Ground Operations Manager in order to support Mr Pank and his team who are based at 10 locations around PNG. Siobhain was the Ground Operations Manager for almost 4 years, until her husband, a MAF pilot, was asked to fly in Telefomin, near PNG’s western border, at the end of 2017.

Siobhain said: “I am thrilled to be able to actively support my old team again and hope I can help them to reach even higher standards of customer service.”

I (Shiv) was asked to hand over the manual I have been struggling to write in order to have capacity to take up this and 2 other new roles. In the photo right, I am “ceremonially” handing over my manual notes to my colleagues in the MAFCOM department. It is such a relief to not have the responsibility of writing the manual hanging over my head anymore. It’s a really important job and I am disappointed in myself that I wasn’t able to complete it, but anyone who knows me knows that I am a people person and as such, working in complete isolation at home in Telefomin has been very hard and somewhat stressful for me over the past few years. I’m really excited to get back to directly supporting my old department again and working with the ground staff at all 10 operational bases.
